Creative Spirit: Creating stories quickly

The goal of this workshop is to challenge the participants to think quickly and creatively in a short period of time. Simple techniques, inexpensive props and one's imagination for quick creative thinking will be used and needed to construct a story that has never been told, written, read or presented orally.

                                                                                                                                                             (Minimum 2 hours)

Listen, Learn and Remember

This workshop will be focused on the personal narrative of ones story. It will give the participant an opportunity to put down ideas and stories that they can use and pass on to their children or students.  Hands-on booklets will be made during this workshop.

                                                                                                                                                                                                (Minimum 2 hours)

Past, Present, Write To the Future

The workshop will focus on oral history and the importance of stories that have been passed down from generation to generation.  Participants will research, interview or collect family history and stories to preserve for the future. The writer will be challenged to use several art forms before presenting their story.

                                                                                               (Recommended for Artist in Residency)

Beyond Words

Stories will be used to help teach and model one way of oral storytelling.

Participants will have an opportunity to create, write and tell stories in a small group.  Groups will then choose and perform a selected story that was written.

                                                                                                                                                                                        (Minimum 2 hours)
